Jennifer French, Program Coordinator,
In the Glenmore Highlands, the development proceedings are starting to take place with trucks traveling through the camp site. The latest Oregon grape and elder berries are in full flush in the wildlands around town. Visit these wildlands and see the deep bundles of deep purple scattered around and about. Both of these types of fruit will make excellent jellies. You can also see the Snowberries, the small white berries, that are not at all tasty but provide palatable browse for deer in winter.' '
Jennifer Aldrich, Communications Coordinator, '' I've had tons of fun getting to know all the keen campers this season. These budding scientists kept us on our toes with great questions and quick observations. "
Adam Smith, Hands-on Science Facilitator '' When I saw the light go on over a camper's head when an advanced concept clicked, it really made my day. It makes me very happy to know that I have influenced a child's understanding of the world; it's a fantastic feeling to hear the kids say that they can't wait to come back next year and learn more cool stuff. You campers have made my summer a lot of fun. Your energy and desire for knowledge has given me hope that our future is in good hands. "
Andrea Merritt, Hands-on Science Facilitator ''This summer was full of experiences that will never be forgotten. I had such a great time with all the campers and enjoyed their enthusiasm to learn."
Jim Shaver, Hands-on Science Facilitator, will be working in Penticton taking his snake to school! '' The world around us is a wondrous place and working with youngsters that are bright and interested in both learning and sharing knowledge about it was a great delight. "
Cameron Baughen, Hands-on Science Facilitator, '' I was really fortunate this summer to work with a great bunch of campers for all my weeks. The kids were really bright and excited and a joy to be around. I really hope everyone has a good fall and that you can make it outside to enjoy our great autumn weather. ''
