Eve Layman  (Science Facilitator)

Eve Layman was born in Victoria, B.C. and grew up exploring the natural world outside her backdoor. After earning her B.Sc. in Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria, she moved to the Okanagan to work at the Summerland Agri-Food Research Station. Rediscovering her “inner child” she had many seasonal jobs teaching kids and the public about our environment including: Park Interpreter for B.C. Provincial parks, Salmon Interpreter at Mission Creek Spawning Channel, Snowshoe guide at Silver Star Mountain, and Dragon Boat Coach for Foundation 2000. Recently moved to Kelowna, she took a position with SOKS as a Climate Change Facilitator to develop a program aimed at elementary school kids. Eve loves to be outside especially hiking, snow shoeing and skiing. She also loves to be on the water in the summer as part of her Dragon Boat team. At work she is affectionately known as the Dragon Boat queen.
